FAQ
Open Accounting data solutions are available through the SSIS Integration Toolkit, and the JDBC Driver Pack. Real-time event processing with TFS can be streamlined with the Integration Gateway's highly flexible 'Custom Webhook' functionality by receiving standard webhook notifications.
To connect SSIS to Open Accounting, configure a REST Connection Manager (KingswaySoft) within your SSIS package. Enter your Open Accounting credentials, select the appropriate organization, and test the connection. Once established, you can use the REST Source to retrieve data and the REST Destination to write data through supported API endpoints.
The REST Connection Manager requires a valid username, password, and organization selection to authenticate against the Open Accounting API. You may also configure API throttle limits, proxy settings, timeout values, and retry logic to ensure stable and secure connectivity in enterprise environments.
The Open Accounting REST Source Component allows you to select supported objects and endpoints, then apply filter parameters to return only relevant records. You can also control batch size and output time zones (UTC or Local) to optimize performance and ensure accurate datetime handling.
The Open Accounting REST Destination Component submits REST API requests based on the selected destination object and action. It supports insert, update, and other API-supported operations, along with batch processing where available. Input columns from upstream components are mapped directly to Open Accounting REST fields for accurate data delivery.
Yes. The REST Destination Component supports multi-input configurations for handling parent-child relationships. A unique _LinkId value connects parent records with related child inputs, ensuring proper relational mapping when submitting structured data through the Open Accounting API.
The REST Destination Component provides flexible error handling including fail on error, redirect rows to error output, or ignore errors. Detailed diagnostic fields such as error codes, messages, and HTTP request/response metadata help troubleshoot API validation issues and failed transactions.
HTTP diagnostic output fields such as _HttpRequestUrl, _HttpResponseCode, and _HttpResponseBody allow full visibility into API communication. These diagnostics make it easier to identify authentication problems, invalid payloads, or endpoint-related issues during Open Accounting data integration.
Performance can be improved by configuring batch size, selecting only required fields, applying filter parameters, enabling retry on intermittent errors, and disabling unused outputs. These best practices reduce unnecessary API calls and improve throughput in high-volume SSIS ETL workflows.
Ignoring SSL certificate errors is generally not recommended, especially in production environments. This setting bypasses certificate validation and may expose your integration to security risks. It should only be used in tightly controlled internal infrastructures where secure network communication is guaranteed.
The Open Accounting REST Destination Component provides flexible error handling options including fail on error, redirect rows to error output, or ignore errors. Detailed error outputs and optional HTTP request and response diagnostics are available to support logging, auditing, and troubleshooting scenarios.
The JDBC Driver Pack allows Java applications to execute standard SQL-based queries, including SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, and UPSERT, where supported by the underlying Open Accounting API objects.
The Integration Gateway utilizes its Custom Webhooks feature to listen for immediate data change messages from Open Accounting, instantly processing the event to keep data up-to-date across your connected systems.
