SSIS Integration Toolkit for Microsoft Dynamics 365
FAQ
The SSIS Integration Toolkit for Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a comprehensive solution designed to streamline Dynamics 365 data integration and migration. It provides robust SSIS components that connect directly to various Microsoft Dynamics 365 platforms, including CE/CRM, Finance and Operations (FO/AX), Business Central (BC/NAV), and Dataverse (formerly CDS). This toolkit enables efficient extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of your Dynamics 365 data, ensuring seamless interaction with SQL Server and any other system for advanced data integration and reporting.
The SSIS Integration Toolkit for Microsoft Dynamics 365 includes specialized components for both Common Data Service (CDS) integration and Microsoft Dataverse integration. Since Dataverse (formerly CDS) is built on the same framework as Dynamics 365 CE/CRM, our Dataverse Source and Destination components share a similar user interface and functionality with our Dynamics 365 CE/CRM components. This allows for straightforward data integration and migration with your CDS v2 and Dataverse instances, leveraging familiar configuration patterns. Key differences for Dataverse include the shift towards RESTful connections and enhanced flexibility for Active Directory On-Premises domain configurations.
For Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE/CRM integration, the toolkit offers a powerful set of components: the CDS/CRM Connection Manager, Source, Destination, OptionSet Mapping, Dynamics CRM Command Task, and Premium Service Lookup components. These facilitate seamless integration and migration with Dynamics 365 for Customer Engagement (Sales, Customer Service, Field Service, Marketing, Project Operations), and older Microsoft CRM Server versions. You can read data via CRM entity, FetchXML queries, EntityChanges, or AuditLogs, and perform various write actions like Create, Update, Delete, Upsert, Merge, and more, with robust matching options and features like "Ignore Null-Valued Fields" and "Ignore Unchanged Fields" for optimized performance. The CRM OptionSet Mapping component helps manage picklist values, and the Dynamics CRM Command Task allows for executing SQL-like commands at the control flow level.
Yes. The SSIS Integration Toolkit for Microsoft Dynamics 365 includes dedicated components for Dynamics 365 FO/AX integration. These components support Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, as well as legacy versions like Dynamics AX 2012, 2009, and 4.0. The AX Connection Manager uses the .NET Business Connector for older AX versions and OData for Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations. You can read data from the AX Server using the AX Source Component and write data using the AX Destination Component with Create, Update, Upsert, or Delete actions. The AX Next Sequence Number Component is also available for generating sequence numbers, and the Premium Service Lookup Component offers lookup capabilities within your FO/AX instance.
The toolkit provides comprehensive support for Microsoft Dynamics 365 BC/NAV integration, covering Dynamics 365 Business Central and older NAV versions (2018, 2017, etc.). It includes the NAV Connection Manager with built-in retry logic and multi-tenant deployment support, the NAV Source Component for reading data with advanced filtering and supplementary parameters, and the NAV Destination Component for writing data using Create, Update, Delete, or Upsert actions. The Premium Service Lookup Component also extends its lookup capabilities to Dynamics 365 BC/NAV instances.
Yes. The SSIS Integration Toolkit for Microsoft Dynamics 365, particularly with an Ultimate Edition license, fully supports EDI D365 integration. This is made possible through the powerful EDI Source Component and EDI Destination Component, which are part of our SSIS Productivity Pack (included in the Ultimate Edition).
The EDI Source Component allows you to read and retrieve data from various EDI file formats, including X12, EDIFACT, EANCOM, VDA, HIPPA, HL7, and NCPDP Script/Telco. It offers flexible connection managers such as Local File, FTPS, SFTP, Amazon S3, Azure Blob, and more. You can specify EDI format, code page, and even flatten segment loops for simplified output. The component includes an EDI Rules Manager to easily download and manage required EDI rules.
Conversely, the EDI Destination Component facilitates writing data to EDI files, supporting the same wide range of formats and connection managers. It offers robust document design capabilities, including a Document Designer with Details and Diagram Views, allowing you to map input columns from upstream components to your defined EDI document structure. Comprehensive error handling options ensure reliable data processing.
With the Ultimate Edition, you get a single license key that covers all SSIS Integration Toolkits and the SSIS Productivity Pack, providing a complete solution for your Dynamics 365 and EDI integration needs.
